CRITICAL MADNESS band arrised in the year 2000. Original two members line-up Mira (drums) and Jelen (guitar/vocal) struggled on noises annals and tried break through the stage. In 2004 after many breaks, studio changes and line-up of the band Yarda (end of CRUDE) joined to the band as guitarist, Jelen took off guitar and attend to vocal along. This line-up is going well, many shows comes, throw a Madness Party. During autumm 2005 was recording 6 tracks demo "Human Scum". New member came in the winter 2006, CM recruited Tomáš (guitar), Yarda cames to bass. In autumm of the same year this line-up making first official album "Killable", realesed by Crystal Production label. 2009 – 2 official album „PANOPTIKUM“ Lecter muzic agency.

Now, I am no brownnose but I shall kiss ass when it is called for. Your latest album, " Panoptikum ", is simply Intense. I would say This is my favourite piece since Before. How is it that you can release this are Stomping, pummeling, Grincore impressively executed with some Goregrind Part yet somewhat catchy material at such high quality year after year?
Hello to you and also to readers of your zine. We are honoured that you like our album. I can’t give you an answer to how we are able to do that, but it wasn’t a question of a such short time. It took us about three years to prepare Killable, life recording included. Our second album Panoptikum was more spontaneous and preparations and recording went smoothly. Concerning our style we just do stuff we like and enjoy.

How was the experience of recording Kill? Easy? Demanding? How long did it take you to master the whole album even to the point of taking the material live on stage?
It was surely demanding experience but most importantly our first experience with recording in professional studio. Whole recording with mastering took couple of months. The studio owner is our buddy, so he helped us a lot.

Given the Stomping, pummeling, Grindcore impressively executed of the " Panoptikum " album, did any of the songs on there make you think “Oh shit, how am I gonna pull this off live?” while recording them?
We had played the album live many times before recording took place, so we haven’t dealt with it at all. Except situations when some of us was too wasted, he he.

and How You Feel Compare with " Killable " album on 2007 ??
The new album is naturally our favourite, because we wanted to do straightforward gore grind album, that will kick people asses properly.... he he. Otherwise each album is a bit different giving evidence about various musical and life time periods. Some fans and most of inland reviewers obviously prefer Killable. By the way, Panoptikum reviews are rather half-hearted and its rating is average compare to Killable, but these are opinions of reviewers – people at concerts are still raging scrumptiously.

How did the recording process go? Did anything unusual and/or spectacular happen?
Apart from getting drunk in local pub nothing extraordinary happend.

You tired yet of the comments about the drums’ placement in the final mix?
No we aren‘t, no one made comments about it, exluded you (laugh...).

Did you have the final call on the final mix?
Sure thing, first and also the last call, but you probably now the way things go yourself. Everything seems to be fine, but after some time it could be even better.

Throughout the Critical Madness career, you have delved into some pretty twisted Gory, Porn and Death stuff in your songs. Give me a rough estimate of how many ways you have come up with to extinguish human life?
I don‘t know that, we rather get inspired by real stories, newspaper headlines about bizarre and brutal stuff that human kind does to itself. It is not possible to make up something like that. And it is endless repository of inspiration. So we rather comment on real human bestiality

Now, a person can take many kinds of approaches when reading and pondering the lyrics in Critical Madness songs. I’d say they can be taken as extremely serious, Which kind of approach do you think the band has had when making these lyrics?
This is everlasting question, difficult to answer. Lyrics are of same importance as music to some bands, while other bands dont’t take it that way. Our band is somewhere in between. I don’t feel like giving an advice about lyrics or music to someone. Critical Madness doesn’t publish lyrics, because we don’t want to tell any important stuff or even persuade anyone. Just a commentary. As was said earlier:Extreme conditions demand extreme responses !!!

I’ve also thought about this cooky thing. What if Critical Madness wrote songs about things that would not be so typical to them; what would they be called?
We didn’t try that yet, so I don’t know, but I suppose it wouldn’t be nothing innovative..

Of the emerging bands today playing similar craft as Critical Madness, which ones do you like best and who would be your top pick to do a cover of one of your songs?
There is a lot of emerging bands today and I listen to many of them, so it is hard to name someone. Czech republic alone has plenty great bands for example RUBUFASO MUKUFO,OPITZ,JIG-AI,INGROWING,CARNAL DIAFRAGMA,SPASM……(surely know). Concerning the cover, it would be an honour to us from any band.

Which bands do you think will make it big one of these days?
Also difficult question. An invasion of Swedish grind core bands appeal to me personally… uuuaaarrrccchh…………………….CRITICAL MADNESS ???

Would you like to share any advice to them?
We don’t have any advice to them, because our band is starting already for ten years.

Have you been recording or filming any material for possible future usage?
No, we don‘ have any future plans and aren’t filming any material. The filming process will come after sufficiency of quality material.

With a band of Nine Years existence, how do you see Critical Madness in the years to come? Would there be any possibility of a genre shift? Pleasetell us more of your future plans.
So far we enjoy to play at full blast, but we’ll see what time bring us. As I mentioned in previous question, we don’t plan our future on principle. Maybe some great tour, that is one of our dreams.

What artists/bands have you been listening to lately? Any recommendations for our readers?
I love GENERAL SURGERY, REGURGITATE, DEAD INFECTION ,SQUASH BOWELS,NAPALM DEATH, NASUM,HAEMORHAGE…………………….but I needn’t to introduce these bands. Only classic alone.

How about Czech Republic Grindcore Music Movemet To Day, especially for Šumperk Areas
There is pretty fair grind core stage. I think you surely know many Czech bands at your place and in the world, or at least in Europe, some belong in top. It is weaker in Šumperk, but there are punk and crust bands, only representatives of extreme music are our band and our friends CARNIVORA (gore grind – recommend).

What is the deepest essence of Grindcore Stuff , so Please Give 10 Best Grindcore Band Albums ?
Grind is protest !!!
REGURGITATE – Carnivorous erection
REGURGITATE – Sickening Bliss
CARCASS – Reek of putrefaction
NAPALM DEATH – Scum
TERRORIZER – World Downfall
GENERAL SURGERY – Left hand patology
HAEMORHAGE – Grume
LENG TCHE – Death a by thousand cuts
